National Access: A cloud-based platform for law firms

Designing such a complex platform was full of intricacies, and certain technological as well as technical challenges were encountered. To start, designing a complex financial model such as this one was tricky, as it included upfront financing, payment reconciliation, automated billing cycles, and syncing with client transactions.

Similarly, ensuring clients’ payment methods and details were safely and securely stored and processed was quite tricky. Furthermore, implementing real-time updates for payments, financing, and case actions related to different cases and attorneys was quite an intricate process. Since this platform was going to be used by platforms of all types and sizes, maintaining scalability was necessary for growing firms and high-volume transactions.

The financial model was improved using Django to structure workflows and core financial logic. Stripe was also integrated to address the matter of advance financing and payouts, while Celery was implemented to deal with automated billing and payment syncing. Real-time updates were achieved by employing WebSockets, which provided real-time notifications and updates.

Scalability issues were also addressed to ensure the platform was capable of handling firms of all sizes, and maintain high performance during high-volume of transactions and traffic, and this was achieved using AWS.

The main objective behind National Access was to develop a singular unified platform for law firms that centralized all their processes, payments, and workflows. A key objective was to keep cash flow predictable and in check; attorneys were provided with the option of advance financing and payouts.

Transparency and efficiency in workflow were promoted through real-time communication and role-based access. On the client side, to make things easier and more convenient, multiple payment methods were integrated, as well as automated subscriptions.

National Access is a fully integrated and unified platform for law firms, offering multiple financial services for clients and attorneys alike. National Access also enhances efficiency by streamlining workflow and communication between clients as well as employees.

The final product is a robust, user-friendly, and intuitive platform that enables law firms to unify their work and transactions into a singular space, with real-time updates. National Access can have a real and measurable impact on a firm’s efficiency as well as transparency.

This platform will help to alleviate administrative burden by removing the need for updating transactions and client accounts manually. Clients will also be satisfied as their user experience is enhanced with flexible billing options and real-time communication.
